This program was created to help women engage in the community and become community leaders, We believe that women's voices need to be heard, but understand that sometimes life gets in the way. We believe that if we provide some basic supports such as training in communication, goal-setting, decision-making, and computer skills, as well as eliminate some barriers by providing childcard subsidies, bus tickets and an honorarium to compensate women for their time, women will have increased opportunities to share their knowledge and experiences as well as participate in the decision-making process while serving on committees, boards, coalitions and organizing collectives.
